Combat Operations Simulator for Mortar Crew Fire Training and Fire Control (120 mm)
About the simulator
- The 120mm mortar crew fire control and shooting simulator is designed for training and instruction of 120mm mortar crews (commander, gunner, loader, aimer, as well as UAV operator). It allows for individual training as well as training within a crew. The simulator aims to develop and reinforce skills in visual reconnaissance, identification of ground targets, aiming, and fire execution, featuring simulated various terrain types and weather conditions within a classroom setting.
- Simulator Package Includes:
- 120 mm Mortar Training Simulator and VR Equipment for the Crew
- Automated Workstation Equipment for the Instructor and Crew
- Specialized Licensed Software ‘Mortar Crew Fire Training and Fire Control Program (120 mm)
The computer equipment of the Trainer is installed with specialized licensed software "Training Program for Shooting and Fire Control of the 120-mm Mortar Crew."
- The software is a set of specialized programs and electronic libraries designed for modeling and simulation of:
- Operating Principles of Mortar Control Interfaces Utilized by the Crew
- Integrated Simulation of Training and Combat Environments Closely Approximating Real Conditions
- Preparation and Monitoring of Training Mission Execution
- The Simulator Software and Hardware as a Whole Enable the Execution of the Following Tasks:
- Effective Training of Mortar Crews in Accordance with Their Functional Duties;
- Simulation of the Operational Workflow of the Mortar Crew with Capability to Reproduce Practical Actions;
- Reproduction of the terrain and background environment (sounds of gunfire, explosions, etc.) within a unified information environment, with their dynamic changes during the execution of tasks;
- Reenactment of mortar crew actions during the performance of their functional duties, including target identification, aiming, loading, firing, etc., in accordance with clause 3.3 of the Handbook of Combat Training Standards for Artillery Specialists and Units (TP 7-00(07).01.01), standards Nos. 8/M, 11/M;
- Modeling (visualization) of mortar firing in accordance with designated targets: aiming, result of fire impact on the target;
- Integration into higher-level simulation and modeling systems with the capability to transmit information about status, position, and task execution; combining several homogeneous and/or heterogeneous simulator systems into a unified information environment;
- The capability for the instructor to create a phonetic-target environment, task execution scenarios, weather conditions, seasons, and times of day; meteorological firing conditions; enemy impact; other conditions and factors affecting task execution; algorithms for changing the environment during task performance; behavior of neighboring units and the enemy (ground and air); monitoring the task execution process from the instructor’s position with the ability to dynamically adjust task conditions during its execution; and the option to halt or completely stop task execution at any moment, etc.
- Recording and Documentation of Mission Execution Processes and Results.
