Simulator for training the crew of the “Strela-10” SAM system

About the simulator

The multimedia training complex for the maintenance crew of the Strela-10 surface-to-air missile system is designed for the training and instruction of the crew (commander, operator, mechanic-driver) of the Strela-10 SAM system. Its purpose is to develop and reinforce skills in control operations, visual reconnaissance, identification of aerial targets, range estimation, guidance, and firing execution under various terrain types and weather conditions, all within a classroom setting. The complex includes an interactive training mock-up of the operator's workstation, a computer-mechanical mock-up of the mechanic-driver's workstation, an automated commander's workstation, an automated instructor's workstation, and specialized software.
Interactive Training Mock-up of the Operator Workstation
Designed to Develop Combat Operation Skills for the Strela-10 Surface-to-Air Missile System and Consists of:
  • Steel Frame Structure and Seat
  • Target Environment Display Screen
  • Auxiliary Monitor with Touchscreen Technology Support
  • Mock-up Guidance Control Panel Simulator
  • Mock-up Optical Sight Simulator
  • Communication Equipment for Interaction with the Instructor
Computerized Mechanical Mock-up of the Driver-Mechanic Workstation
Designed for practicing driving skills of the “Strela-10” SAM vehicle. The mock-up's construction ensures that the dimensions and placement of equipment correspond to the actual sizes and layout of the main control elements for the driver-mechanic of the “Strela-10” SAM, as well as the correspondence of the movement ranges (travel), forces, and feedback of the control element mock-ups (levers, pedals, switches) to the characteristics of the real equipment of the “Strela-10” SAM. The mock-up package includes:
  • Steel Frame Structure, Desk, and Seat
  • Mock-up Control Levers
  • Mock-up Gear Shift Lever
  • Mock-ups of Fuel Supply, Clutch, and Brake Pedals
  • Mock-up Manual Fuel Supply Control Handle
  • Sensor Suite with Electronic Controller
  • Primary and Auxiliary Monitors (with Touchscreen Technology Support) Integrated into the Computer System
  • Communication Equipment (Headset)

Specialized Licensed Software

‘Driver-Mechanic Training Program’

Commander Workstation
Designed for practicing the combat skills of the commander of the Strela-10 SAM system, it consists of a touchscreen monitor and communication equipment.
Instructor (Training Supervisor) Workstation
Designed to create situational and background target environments, task execution options for training, as well as other conditions and factors influencing the training process. From their workstation, the instructor can monitor the task execution process, with the ability to dynamically change conditions and situations, as well as receive complete information about the actions of the trainees. Consists of computer equipment components (computing unit, keyboard, mouse manipulator, printer, acoustic system, computer headset, pilot simulator joystick).
Specialized Licensed Software
The software is a set of specialized programs and electronic libraries designed for modeling and simulation of:
  • Operating Principles of Assemblies, Components, and Systems of the Strela-10 Surface-to-Air Missile System
  • Physical Dynamics of Strela-10 Movement Across Various Terrain Types with Obstacle Negotiation Consideration
  • Integrated Simulation of Training and Combat Environments Closely Approximating Real Conditions
  • Preparation and Monitoring of Training Mission Execution
