“Kropyva” Automation Systems

Tactical Level Command System "Kropyva"

About the system

The tactical-level command and control system \"Kropyva\" is a system tested in real combat conditions, designed to automate specific command tasks at the battalion (division), company (battery), platoon, and individual equipment unit (gun) levels. "Kropyva" can be used by various ground forces units: artillery, motorized infantry, tank units, general military reconnaissance, ground-based air defense units, engineering and sapper units, and others.
PURPOSE OF THE SYSTEM
  • The “Kropyva” system provides:
  • access to a digital battlefield map with real-time GPS positioning and situational awareness;
  • secure data exchange between network participants, including friendly force tracking, target coordinates, and short operational messages;
  • automated support for mission-critical calculations, including route planning, engagement zone analysis, and artillery fire adjustment;
  • integration and automated data transfer from reconnaissance assets, including UAVs, radar systems, and acoustic surveillance systems.
SCOPE OF APPLICATION
The specialized “Kropyva” software suite was developed to support the operational requirements of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine.
The primary purpose of the Kropyva system is to enhance target engagement effectiveness through the automation of artillery fire control processes. This is achieved by integrating hardware and software components, digital mapping capabilities, automated ballistic and tactical calculations, as well as the transmission of commands and target data via secure digital communication channels.
USAGE
The system can be deployed on virtually any Android-based tablet through the installation of dedicated firmware. For command, control, and data transmission, “Kropyva” utilizes HF and digital radio communications compatible with NATO secure communications standards. The platform is also compatible with additional communication channels, including fiber-optic and satellite networks. In addition to artillery fire control, the system can also support the operation and coordination of reconnaissance UAVs.
According to NATO classification standards, “Kropyva” is categorized as a C2 (Command and Control) system.
Automated Workstations: An automated workstation within the “Kropyva” system is an integrated hardware and software solution designed for information visualization and tactical data exchange to support command, control, reconnaissance, and artillery fire management functions.
  • Stationary Commander Workstation: visualization of unit dispositions and target locations on a digital battlefield map;
  • monitoring and verification of firing solution calculations;
  • transmission of fire missions and combat orders. The workstation can also be integrated into a vehicle platform.
  • Portable Field Workstation:
  • geospatial positioning and survey of battery firing positions;
  • monitoring and verification of firing solution calculations;
  • transmission of orders to gun commanders;
  • geospatial positioning of unit formations and combat dispositions;
  • plotting of reconnaissance targets on the digital map;
  • fire adjustment and correction.
  • Gun Commander Workstation:
  • receipt of firing data and fire missions from the battery fire control center;
  • calculation of individual gun corrections and firing adjustments.
